Tim is the Lambeth Libraries Reading Development Officer and is our first Superstar. He has worked with us on all the Brixton BookJams and is a keen supporter of the Kids’ BookJam. Tim is helping us to spread the word on the event through the library networks and on all their newsletters.
We are very proud to be working with this award winning bookshop and the fantastic team behind it – Tamara, George and Tereze. Tales on Moon Lane will be running the pop-up shop at our first Kids’ BookJam.
247 Tales competition with Bloomsbury
The Kids’ BookJam will also be running a 247 Tales competition, in conjunction with Bloomsbury Kids, to give local schools the opportunity to use the event as a teaching and reward platform. The Kids’ BookJam will announce the winning stories at the event and then simultaneously release a free eBook of the winning stories.
Smart Stories will be bringing their special brand of inspiration to the Kids’ BookJam, in the form of writing workshops that revolve around the use of film, green screen, prom dresses, costume, drama, and sound recording. They say ‘We provide the first steps into an imagined world, carefully resourced to give children the necessary experience to develop their own stories. Across a single day, the children plan, write, star in, narrate, and provide sound effects for their own short film’. They will be bringing their inspiring love for stories to Brixton, and giving Brixton’s Kids a reason to write.
