About Brixton BookJam

The Brixton BookJam is a FREE quarterly literary event that is unpredictable, eclectic, and aims to curate the very best in South London writing. From a-listers to talented unknowns, each BookJam brings a range of talent to our dedicated and passionate audience. Come join us!

The next BookJam will be on 1st June 2015, at our regular venue the Hootananny. Watch this space for more details to follow.

The March 2015 BookJam was brilliant – we heard from:

Lucy Ribchester, Rosie Wilby, Paul McVeigh, Montague Cobbe, Belle de Neige, Robert Eaglestone, Jenny Stallard, Angela Wilson, Martin Millar, Ben Byrne, Susie Cornfield, Courttia Newland and Raleigh Rye from Greenwich Village, NYC. Find out more about their work on the Readers/Speakers page.

We were thrilled to be on Radio 4’s Open Book in August 2014 for their special edition on Literary London.

The Brixton Blog gave us a nice writeup of our 6th May event, which you can read here, and a BrixtonBuzz review is here.

A video with some footage of previous events will be out soon…. Past readers have included: Adam Mars-Jones, Alex Wheatle, Natasha Soobramanien, Roz Morris, Jeff Noon, Martin Millar, Geoff Dyer, Kate Harrad, Christopher Russel, Andrew Mueller, Sharmila Chauhan, Vicky Grut, Dave McGowan, Helen Smith, Jim Bob, Courttia Newland and Rhodri Marsden to name but a few.

There are a couple of reviews of previous events on the Brixton Blog and Brixtonia Blog.
