About Brixton BookJam

The Brixton BookJam is an unpredictable, intelligent and FREE event for people who are passionate about books and the written word. It’s a mix of readings, and talks, chatting and socialising. From people who love to read through to A-list authors, ghost writers, erudite editors, self-effacing self-publishers and literary lexophiles, everyone is welcome!

The next BookJam will be on 6th October 2014, featuring Ravinder Randhawa, James Benmore Sophie Sparham, Montague Cobbe, Alex Wheatle, Alice Furse, Miranda Miller Brendan McNamee, Zoe Howe, Sherbaan V. Valean and Harys Francke. Look to your right for the flyer!  Meanwhile, we were thrilled to be on Radio 4′s Open Book last month for their special edition on Literary London.

Our first Kids BookJam is on 18th October 2014 at No.6 Somerleyton Road. Just like the original BookJam, is it still absolutely FREE. Find out more from the KIDS’ BOOKJAM tab above and if you’d like to be involved, then please get in touch over at the ORGANISERS page.

The Brixton Blog gave us a nice writeup of our 6th May event, which you can read here, and a BrixtonBuzz review is here.

A video with some footage of previous events will be out soon…. Past readers have included: Adam Mars-Jones, Alex Wheatle, Natasha Soobramanien, Roz Morris, Jeff Noon, Martin Millar, Geoff Dyer, Kate Harrad, Christopher Russel, Andrew Mueller, Sharmila Chauhan, Vicky Grut, Dave McGowan, Helen Smith, Jim Bob, Courttia Newland and Rhodri Marsden to name but a few.

There are a couple of reviews of previous events on the Brixton Blog and Brixtonia Blog.
